Posture

Posture . Most of us  suffer from bad posture . This can be caused simply by sitting . We do lead
sedentary lives. Sitting at work, driving , watching TV and logging onto social media. Over a period of time
poor posture causes  joint problems and can be painful.
We can change this by adjusting our posture and realigning neck , spine, hips and pelvis quite easily.
This will quickly take pressure off the joints and allow the body to relax, we can then move naturally .
This diagram below shows the beginning stage  .
  1. Poor alignment due to weak posture .
  2. Gravity is exerting a natural force downward  and the body is struggling to keep balance .
  3. This causes stress so the joints are under pressure.
  4. The body compensates because we feel pain  in our back legs or  shoulders  and we adopt a poor posture .

Practicing  good posture while doing Taichi Qigong Shibashi will align the body and  the cure aches pains

we all experience .

  • Legs become stronger
  • We become balanced because we lower our centre of gravity, we are no longer top heavy.
  • We are grounded. Simply the body is in harmony with the forces of nature (gravity.)
  • We move more naturally .
We have adjusted our posture , this allows us to breathe from the abdomen.
Abdominal breathing and  body alignment are fundamental to Qigong and your health and well being.
